A great community fun day for all in the park!
Now in it’s 4th year, the Summer Social is a free family day out in Holmewood Gardens. This is a day to come together and spend time relaxing and having fun with other members of the community. The summer social is an inclusive and free event put on by the Holmewood Neighbourhood Association. Everyone is invited to bring a national dish to share in a big picnic. This year there will be lots of events and activities for all ages to enjoy including:
-Bake Off Competition - 1:00pm
-Treasure Hunt - 2.30pm
-Live Music - various times
-Bring-A-Dish Picnic - all day
-Games & Races - 4-4.30pm
-Pass the Parcel - 4.45pm
-Local Craft Beer - all day
-Raffle - draw at 6pm
What can I do to help?
Please bring some food and/or drink to share along with picnic essentials (see list below).
If you play an instrument and want to join in the musical activities, feel free.

More about the event activities?
-Live Music is being coordinated by Max Warner, the Chair of the HNA. We will play a little live music and some recorded music, and also plan for some quiet periods. To enquire about joining in please email Max.
-Bring-A-Dish Picnic every year the food that is on offer gets better and better! Please bring a dish that you love or that represents you to share with everyone. The recently published neighbourhood Recipe Book will be on sale for £10.
-Games & Prizes are being run this year by Miranda, Judith Rosheuvel and with some help from a few mums from Christchurch School and local teenagers. Expect three-legged and sack races, egg and spoon capers, a treasure hunt and a raffle with 3 great local businesses contributing some amazing prizes. If you have any prizes you can donate, such as a bottle of wine or a gift, please email Miranda Hudson.
-Local Craft Beer provided by Brixton Brewery will be available for purchase at a reasonable price, brought to us by resident brewer Bates.
-Holmewood Bake Off Competition Brent Carnell, instrumental in getting the neighbourhood Recipe Book published, along with Daisy Yates and Judith will be judging the #HolmewoodBakeOff. You are invited to enter a baked good in the savoury or sweet categories. These need to be placed on the table by 1pm - under the big tree. The winners will be announced at 2.15pm, and then we'll all share in the treats. To enter please fill out the form and send it to hnacommittee@gmail.com (multiple entries accepted).
